《彼・此》使用手機3D軟體掃描日常物理空間，以任意鏡頭移位擷取的方式，產生殘缺與模糊的影像，並將不同時間下掃描的不同環境置入於一個重新建構的空間座標中，於是「彼地與此地」成為「共時共地」，出現在相同的虛擬時空中。

母親因家族為求理想生活由緬甸移居台灣，時常藉由網路視訊與移民美國的親戚們聯繫，我以視訊教他們使用3D掃描，紀錄在美國的居家環境，透過網路取得模型檔案後，將其並置於我們在台灣的生活空間。VR中的緬文談話聲來自於母親與她的妹妹，十幾年來未曾見面，維持著每個週末以科技產品維繫情感的日常對話，藉由網路相約於虛擬空間，「彼」與「此」雖近猶遠。

That・This is a moving-image and VR installation that reconstructs domestic environments through smartphone-based 3D scanning. By intentionally shifting the lens during capture, the resulting visuals become blurred and fragmented. Scans of different environments—taken across time and place—are placed into a restructured spatial framework, allowing “that place” and “this place” to coexist within a shared virtual landscape.

The work originates from a family history of migration: my mother moved from Myanmar to Taiwan in pursuit of a better life, while her siblings later emigrated to the United States. Their long-term connection has been sustained primarily through weekly online video calls. As part of this project, I remotely guided my relatives in the U.S. to use 3D scanning apps to document their daily living spaces. These fragmented scans were then juxtaposed with our own space in Taiwan, creating a layered, virtual architecture where emotional closeness and physical separation intersect.

The soundscape features Burmese conversations exchanged between my mother and her sister—voices that have traveled across screens for over a decade without an in-person reunion. These recordings echo in the virtual environment, forming a sense of presence that is both intimate and mediated.

In this digital terrain, the boundaries between home and distance, memory and presence, gradually dissolve. Though “here” and “there” are virtually intertwined, they remain apart—held together by language, memory, and a distance that technology cannot fully erase.
